What you will need:
- 3 cups All purpose flour
- 1 Cup butter, softened
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 Large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
Directions:
- In a stand up mixer on medium speed, beat butter until creamy. Slowly add sugar, and beat well. Add vanilla and egg, beat well. Slowly add flour and salt until well blended. Divide dough in half, cover with cling wrap and chill 2 hours (or overnight)
- Pre-heat oven to 350F
- Roll out dough on a floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake 8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Let cool before decorating with icing.
Glaze:
What you will need:
- 16oz package powdered sugar
- 6 tablespoons warm water
- liquid food coloring (optional)
Directions:
- Combine warm water and powdered sugar until well mixed. Divide into shallow bowls for dipping and tint with food coloring if desired. Decorate cookies.
